We will offer you a chance to get your 5-year CSCS Green Labourer Card, Asbestos Awareness, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Safety certificates, help and advice to overcome any barriers you have and much more to help you find work.
Open to anyone over 16 years and unemployed
Individuals will be required to attend:
- 12 days at Abbey Access Training/St Swithins Community Centre
- Rolling Programme
- Followed by ongoing support sessions until employment secured

Programme content
Day 1 – Induction and enrolment
Day 2 – CV Lesson and update of CV’s, Job Search
Day 3 – Covering Letter lesson and update/production of a Cover letter
Day 4 – Reviews/ target settings/ Individual Learning Plan (ILP)/Skills Work Star/Job Search
Day 5 – Application Form lesson and Job Search
Day 6 – Asbestos Awareness and Job Search
Day 7 – Manual Handling and Job Search
Day 8 – Fire Safety and Job Search
Day 9 – Site Safety Awareness Course
Day 10 – First Aid Training
Day 11 – Intensive Job Search
Day 12 – Consolidation/final Reviews/Concentrated Job Search
This will be followed by supported days of intensive job search, application sessions and DWP approved work experience opportunities to help you gain Traineeship, apprenticeship or employment.
Programmes are funded through a range of contracts.
